Description
Our mission is to ensure that those indigent communities surrounding our clinic have access to high quality comprehensive medical care facilities and in addition their social needs are addressed.
Overview
The work involves constructing files, filing them from existing files, and re-filing the new files. Volunteers therefore need to know how to sort accurately by alphabet and number.
Beneficiaries
The Clinic provides services to indigent people regardless of race, gender or creed living within an approximate radius of 20 km of the clinic. It now
receives over 70 000 patient visits per year and has become a vital health facility.
Impact
Upgrading our filing system means that patient files can store more information, will be easier to file and more difficult to misfile and therefore will get lost less often, minimising the time patients spend waiting in queues and optimising their treatment as clinicians have access to more complete information.
Problems and Challenges
We will be working indoors and will have all necessary materials etc prepared beforehand. If for some reason the project leader is unavailable, her assistant can run the project.
